MLB Player Mentors 

As a top professional baseball academy in South Florida, we offer some of the best elite baseball instruction that you'll find in that area. To achieve this feat, we provide individual, group, and team baseball training lessons. Here are some of the coaches that have helped us achieve this feat.


Mark Montimurro has been voted Coach of the Year 10 times between 2001 and 2019 by the Sun Sentinel and the Miami Herald and 7 times by the Florida Dairy Farmers. He is the current Head Softball Coach for the Coral Springs Charter, which he has taken to become state champion 5 years in a row between 2015 and 2019. In 2003-2004 his team Hollywood Christion took the state championship. In 2015 he was declared National Coach of the Year by the Max Preps/Medium Schools.


Juan Rincon has a legendary status when it comes to pitching. He has a horde of awards that are a testament to his uncanny pitching ability. He won the Rookie of the Year Award in his 1st season in the LVBP  in 1997-98 before winning the 1999 Twins Minor League Pitcher of the Year.

Juan had his 1st MLB hit off Jon Leiber of the Chicago Cubs and was rated 9th best Prospect in The Easter League (AA)by Baseball America, 5th best prospect in MN Twins minor league system, and Twins Minor League Pitcher of the Year.

He also played in 5 ALDS (2002,03,04,06,09) and 1 ALCS in 2002. After the 2004 season, he won the Charles O. Johnson Award as Most Improved Twins. In LVBP Rincon won 6 championships with the Lara Cardenales, Aragua Tigres and Navegantes del Magallanes. In 2001 (AA) and 2002 (AAA), he played on two Minor League Championship teams and played 10 seasons in the MLB with 444 games pitched, 35 wins as a reliever, more than 500 innings, and 469 Ks. Between the 2004 and 2006 seasons, Rincon pitched 227 games, 233 innings, 255 strikeouts, and a record of 20 wins and 11 losses, all as a reliever. He also played independent ball at the Atlantic league for 4 seasons before retiring before the 2015 season.


Michael Sandoval has over 20 years of experience in baseball, having played in the Venezuelan, Mexican and American baseball leagues. He has a very competitive approach to baseball, which reflects how he goes about relating with the young players.

Mike's style of instruction includes a combination of skills training with technology and infrastructure to create a well-rounded training experience for children and teenagers.

Each of our coaches is available at the Vaugh Sports Academy baseball camp. They are also trained online baseball coaches that can provide baseball training online.
